The oldest museum of printing in the world: The Gutenberg Museum. A place where precious, five-hundred-year-old books are exposed in the half-darkness. In a specially guarded room with doors reminiscent of those in the bank’s vault I could watch the beautifully illustrated copies of the Gutenberg Bible.
The house “Zum Römischen Kaiser” where the Gutenberg Museum is located. It is also the first major new building in Mainz after the Thirty Years’ War.
