Kežmarok Castle

Kežmarok Castle

That evening, I didn’t have more power to explore the area. I ate hot garlic soup with cheese in a restaurant near the Kežmarok Castle, then I took this photo (in January 2020) before going further south. The sun had set a few hours ago and the castle was not particularly illuminated, so photography is more of a documentary than an artistic one. The castle was built in 1463 to defend the city of Kezmarok (Slovak: Kežmarok; Polish: Kieżmark; Old German: Käsmark, which means “cheese market”).
