In 1382, the construction of this originally hunting castle was completed here. A little over one hundred years later, fortifications were added, separated from the rectangular block of the building, along with characteristic round defense towers.

The color of lemon peel visible in the pictures is, of course, added by computer. In fact, the facade of the castle is rather gray. Pictures taken in July, where the trees were covered with juicy greens.

After revitalization in the 1960s, the Zvolen Castle can be visited. Permanent and occasional exhibitions are here organized by the Slovak National Gallery.
