Gutenberg-Museum
The oldest museum of printing in the world: The Gutenberg Museum. A place where precious, five-hundred-year-old books are exposed in the half-darkness. In a specially guarded room with doors reminiscent of those in the bank’s vault I could watch the beautifully illustrated copies of the Gutenberg Bible.
- The house “Zum Römischen Kaiser” where the Gutenberg Museum is located. It is also the first major new building in Mainz after the Thirty Years’ War.
